Babar is a Partner specializing in developing and expanding the Firm’s project finance and corporate & syndicated finance practices across multiple sectors, with over 15 years of experience. Babar’s key areas of expertise include project finance and banking finance (conventional and Islamic), projects, infrastructure, energy and real estate. Additionally, Babar is actively involved in numerous first-of-a-kind transactions in Pakistan’s energy, power, infrastructure, transmission, and real estate sectors.
Babar is routinely engaged in project finance transactions
in relation to power projects (non-renewable and renewable) and is widely
sought for his expertise on debt instruments (including international bonds),
convertible loans, leveraged and acquisition finance, structured finance,
securitization, and financing backed by export credit agencies.
He has also worked extensively with offshore and onshore
investors including multilateral agencies such as the International Finance
Corporation (IFC), Asian Development Bank (ADB), British International
Investment plc (BII), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Overseas Private
Investment Corporation (OPIC) and China Development Bank (CDB).
