Ali Akber is a Partner at the Firm since 2009. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions (including takeover laws and competition laws), capital markets, corporate restructuring, banking, financial and manufacturing related laws. He also regularly provides general corporate advice to the Firm’s various retainer clients. He routinely advices clients on various specific regulatory regimes including the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, State Bank of Pakistan, Competition Commission of Pakistan, and sector specific advice on media, telecommunications and pharmaceutical related regulatory matters.

A chartered accountant-turned-lawyer, Ali Akber’s combination of a strong skill set and extensive practical exposure in finance and law, has allowed him to understand the complexities of transactions and assist clients in structuring transactions in a manner which is most efficient from a financial, taxation and legal perspective.

Ali Akber has consistently been ranked as one of the top corporate lawyers in Pakistan by Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.
