In a landmark judgement announced on 7 September 2022, the Honourable Islamabad High Court directed the Federal Board of Revenue to return approximately PKR 3 Billion to Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) within 15 days. The judgement was passed in Writ Petition No. 2622/2022 in which the Firm’s dispute resolution team appeared on behalf of the petitioner (PLL).
While concurring with the contention of the petitioner, the Islamabad High Court rendered a detailed judgement which will act as a comprehensive guideline in instances of recovery while ensuring preservation of taxpayers’ fundamental rights.
